A Day in the Life....
Tal again everyone, it is
already time for another posting of adventures, Kings
how the time flies. This hand finds me newly arrived in
the city of Lydius and exploring it's many charms :: and
paga dens as well::. I have found the people here to be
quite friendly and the city itself accommodating. Life is
good here and I am finding the stay quite enjoyable.
I would advise any would be visitors visiting the local
paga den, do not, under any circumstances place a wager
that the paga girl named sassy could not possibly remain
in the Gorean Bow for at least five ahn. I lost five
silver in such a bet, but being young and easily
entertained, the loss of coin was worth the sight of it.
I am guessing it was also what brought about such a
wager, not only to relieve me of any extra coin I might
be burdened with but also to admire the girl's great
flexibility as well.
The warriors here are skillful and impressive, I have
taken to spending many an ahn with them once relieved of
their duties. A young warrior can learn much from such
men and I listen in earnest, even when sometimes I
believe them to embellish a bit. But who am I to say,
perhaps once there was a slave who defeated a Kur single
handedly and just maybe one can drink 15 paga's in
5 ihn, after fighting off an entire regiment with 20
men, some of these men certainly seem as if they could.
I will learn much and perhaps also be a great warrior
someday in such company.
I also was to meet the city administrator and en sword
as well and was quite honored. Both seem fair and noble
men. The city's free women so far have remained elusive
to me, whether by chance or by warning, Kings only
knows. Sometimes one must wonder when the name " rogue "
has been whispered with ones name attached. I suppose
now is a good a time as any to refute such rumors, young
and enthusiastic, perhaps, a rogue, no. Ladies now you
know and are free to roam the city once more assured
that most of your elite guards know me by sight.
Having never been so close to the Thassa before, I also
have taken up fishing, or am trying to. So far I have
gone two days and have caught an old boot, a paga bowl
and a kajira's silks as she wandered by to purchase fish
for her Master. Alright perhaps the slaves silks weren't
quite by accident, a man can get quite bored sitting on
the docks for ahns at a time and she squealed most
admiringly. I think I am going to enjoy fishing
immensely.
Well, it is late and there is much to do here for a
young warrior, perhaps tonight I will check out the
arena as I have not yet, and then stop by to see if
sassy is working, I have an unusually large amount of
coin burning a hole in my leathers pocket. Until next
time......... be well Goreans!
