In the past few hands people have been coming to me and making comments about the Chronicle and those who run it.  Basically in regards to what they say about me and the Gorean Times as well as the Accredited Blue Caste Scribes and some of my fellow scribes.  Relax this is not a bashing session.  I was asked if I noticed the Chronicle's stepped up layout and new type of articles and stories.   I had not had time to see it for myself so they filled me in and then waited seemingly for me to say something negative about it.  Instead I commend the improvements made in the Chronicle.  As with anything when you are not the only supplier you tend to have keep on top of things and keep things fresh.  Unlike when you are the only one there you can get lazy and let things slide not put some much effort into the quality of your product.  So to me the remodeled Chronicle is a good thing it means people get a better paper whichever one they read.  Some of the announcements and ads will be the same some will not.  Different stories and different points of view I am sure will prove to be more entertaining for the readers.  Nothing negative there.

Now as far as the Accredited Blue Scribes Caste.  It is said we are all those who ran away from the Caste at sometime and were not allowed to return because we burned some type of mythical bridge.  I cannot speak for everyone else but in my case I was thrown out.  Which if you think about it can almost make you laugh.  I tend to speak up.  Minor things like allowing candidates to count their own ballots in elections.  Slaves remaining within caste.  You know curious things like that.  So I was branded a trouble maker and thrown out.  Funniest thing I found out?  They did revise how they did the ballots and candidates are not allowed to count them now.  But of course it was all their idea..   Like I said that was my case.  I know a few others that were removed for similar reasons.  So in fact the Accredited Blue Caste Scribes are people who wanted to improve and stepped forward to do so.  But even this seems to have lead to improvement in the old Caste.  So seems the long standing habit of Warriors contests and spars holds true.  To battle, to have a competitor only moves to make you stronger and more skilled.
