Slave Wine
Slave wine is a derivative of sip root. This
concentrated "wine" is extremely bitter and
distasteful.
Originally its effects lasted only a little over a month
Over the years, with the great strides in the healing
arts, the effects slave wine of today is virtually
indefinite.
The women of the wagons including the slaves chewed the
sip root for its contraceptive effects rather than drink
slave wine. Its effects lasted 3 to 4 months.
To this day, with some owners, it is common practice to
administer slave wine to all female slaves not used for
breeding once every month, others dose their slaves
annually.
While the necessity of giving slave wine on a monthly or
even a yearly basis is no longer applicable, the
practice still continues for primarily symbolic reasons,
reminding the slave of her owner's control over her body
and all its functions.
The administering of slave wine is also part of the
procedure during examination of a newly collared or
purchased slave regardless of any previous dosing. Once
the health certificate is issued, the owner may dose the
girl as often as he wishes.
Note to FW for troublesome slaves: Frequent
dosings may be given, with no negative effects other
than a nasty taste left in the slaves mouth, a scowl on
an otherwise lovely face and a smile behind your veils.
Slave wine is readily available from your nearest
physician.
"It is bitter!" I said, touching my lips to it. "It is
the standard concentration, and dosage," he said, "plus
a little more, for assurance. Its effect is indefinite,
but is normally renewed annually, primarily for symbolic
purposes." ~Kajira of Gor, page 130

Tal one and all.
Well once more the time to
write this has snuck up on me. I suppose the biggest
news is that tonight I will be joined, which I know
comes as sad news to all the single FW out there. Until
now, I little realized there was so much to be done
concerning a joining, and am glad to see it finally
approaching at last, amid much ado with flowers, clothes
and Benga the KM sanctioning us all to bosk sandwiches
so she can keep up with the baking.
There was a bit of discrepancy regarding my joining
attire, I opted for the old leathers casual look and of
course was completely outvoted, so it would appear I
will be spending the better part of the evening tugging
at an uncomfortable collar of a new tunic and squeaking
with each step of new boots as well.
I was sworn to the city of Sais recently as well, which
is where we will be making our home. It is a good city
with decent people and a good place to raise a dozen or
so heirs. Think I most likely will wait to break that
bit of news until after the joining.
Oh, one a different note, it would seem my slave girl
was stolen recently and I wanted to let everyone know
there is a sizeable reward for her return. Her name is
marisa < Oo Marisa > and it would be well worth
someone's while to see her returned safely.
As for now, Benga has run into the room at least 10
times to inform me it is well past time to dress for the
joining, so until next times, be well Goreans!
