When do you know
your Leadership is killing your city?
Seems to me the great
cities of the past are hitting rough spots. Laws
so strict on petty things that is calls for removal of
people from the city. People in positions that can
repeatedly offend citizens for which they serve yet can
never be corrected nor are they made to apologize.
Making ones own citizens rather travel to find enjoyment
than to stay within their homestone and build a life
there. When do you know it is too late? When
you lose a good amount of your active responsible
citizens who worked to keep the city appealing? Or
when they move to other cities and you make no
effort to retain them? The once magnificent city
which was boasted as the City of Morning Towers has
fallen victim to such an on going case. There was
a time I too left my small quiet city to visit and speak
to those of Ko-Ro-Ba about stories and social events the
doors were quite open and welcoming. Encouraging
to build trade relations among both houses and cities.
Yet now the doors are closed seemingly. No reason
given. I have inquired at various levels. I
have had friends inquire at various levels. But
there is no explanation as to why a once great city
would turn on itself. By driving off citizens, or
killing them off if need be. Or cutting ties with
those who had social events in common. We have all
learned that a city although it can sustain itself for a
while. Without the influx of fresh people and
ideas it does grow stale and stiff and in Ko-Ro-Ba's
case inflexible to bending to meet the needs of its
citizen's. After all the leaders serve the
citizens it is not the other way around. This
being the case when a leader turns a deaf ear. The
citizens tend to go to places they know they will be
heard and valued for their contribution to the city.
Now I am not pointing
my finger at Ko-Ro-Ba's flaws alone. My city of
Rorus realized that its Administrator's actions were not
truly in the best interests of the city. Sure he
would go and visit other city's but he never followed
through on his agreements with them. Which does
not look good for a city. When he realized he was
found out he of course stepped down citing it was best
time for him to travel once again which this is the
second time he has done such. Of course he also
knew this time a vote was coming so he left before being
ran out. So now we have a new leader Torviss Jaxx.
Hopefully he will bring a new air of openness and
dependability to the position which our city needs.
So before it is too late for your city look around and
see what changes you can inspire for the betterment of
your Homestone.
Just some food
for thought.
