There once was a time when a warrior was a warrior,
not only that he was a man, and he acted like one.
Recently, events that have made their way back to me
from the City of KoRoBa, quite frankly sicken me. A
warrior of the city recently threatened a free woman,
with a collar for her behavior. Now, keep in mind
that I was not present for the conversation, but from
what I understand the free woman was making
inappropriate comments about the daughter of the
warrior, calling her a slut in robes and the like.
Now while a collar may not have been the most
appropriate thing to threaten, it was within his
rights as a warrior. At the very least, he didn't
actually
follow through with the threatened
action. The woman from what I understand, went and
complained to the administrator of the city. The
admin's solution to the situation was not to tell the
free woman to not be so sensitive, it was to order the
warrior, the city's own En Sword, to apologize
publicly to the free woman for what he had said.
Furthermore, since when do free women talk about
other free women being sluts?? In my opinion if a
free woman is worrying so much about where another
woman supposedly shared a mans furs, she is
trying to direct attention away from herself, or,
she is jealous. Either way, given that the free
woman was insulting the warrior's daughter, he was
within his right to put the woman in her place.
What's this you ask? No wait!! There's more! An
announcement was sent out by the En Scribe for the
city to call a meeting. The reasons for the meeting
were not disclosed at that time, and the free woman
again complains to the admin, to which he orders the
En Scribe to send out another notice telling all what
it was about. If I were the warrior, I think I would
be furious at the further humiliation.
My opinion, (and I am entitled to it as this is an
editorial) is that the Administrator of my own Home
Stone, needs to remember that he too is a man, and a
warrior, and stop allowing the women of the city to
run it as if they were men! It is ridiculous to make
a warrior, a respected figure of the city go through
such public humiliation to appease the hurt pride of a
free woman. My sympathies go out to the warrior, and
Brother, if you read this, and you will know it is you
that I speak of, remember your honor lies responsible
to our Home Stone, not its administrator, don't allow
yourself to be forced into doing anything that you
don't feel right doing.
